My good friend and musical collaborator Anais Mitchell had a big year with her album Hadestown, a Grammy-nominated folk-opera that made best-of-2010 lists all over the US and Europe. I’ve never had a chance to be a part of the Hadestown Orchestra before, and I’m excited to sing the part of Orpheus in New York City on Jan. 10th at the Rockwood Music Hall, Stage II.
In addition to the great instrumentalists of the Hadestown Orchestra, led my Michael Chorney, there’s a fantastic lineup of singers performing the opera:
- Amy Correia as Persephone
- Ben Knox Miller (The Low Anthem) as Hades
- Jefferson Hamer as Orpheus
- Anais Mitchell as Eurydice
- Jesse Elliott (These United States) as Hermes
- Sometymes Why as the Fates: Aoife O’Donovan, Ruthy Merenda, and Kristin Andreassen
I hope to see you there!
